Simikot Kailash trekking people known as Mount Kailash trek via Simikot, this route offers you a great opportunity to see the far western traditional unique culture and their lifestyle, plus best view about the Mt: Saipal and gives to you plenty of time to acclimatize to the higher altitude for Tibet. The elevation of Simikot is (2,910 m) the trek of Simikot Kailash starts 50-minute mountain air travel from Nepalgunj to Simikot by small aircraft with a magnificent Views of Mt: Saipal. From Kathmandu to Simikot there is no direct flight therefore first we fly or drive to Nepalgunj and fly over to Simikot. Flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot operated only in the Morning time because, of bad weather conditions, so we have to stay one night in Nepalgunj and the next morning catches an early flight to Simikot.
Kailash Trekking via Simikot Humla offers you exploration in the far western remote valley of Karnali Nepal, also it’s the best way to acclimatize to yourself altitude for Tibet trek. After Simkot we trying to flow the Karnali River and ascend up to the Nara La Pass (4,516 m) before to get to the dry Tibetan plateau. From Simikot to border it takes 6 days exciting hiking trips around the Humla valley of Karnali to reach the Tibetan border town of Sher.

For this trek, we take a trip all along ancient pilgrimage trails and trading relations, trekking across the boundary into Tibet to Mt: Kailash, the sacred holy Lake of Manasarovar, representing purity and Rakshas Tal Demons Lake, in place of power. From the lake of Manasarovar, we head onto Mt: Kailash and after complete Kora, we descent back to Kathmandu via Kerung border.

Day 02: Tibet visa organizing day Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu O/N Hotel BB plan.
This day our office person going to preparing the Visa and special permit for trekking, but after the breakfast, you go for City sightseeing tour with our guide he will pick you from hotel and evening back to Hotel.
Day 03: Shopping day if needed anything for Tibet and rest O/N Hotel BB plan.
Its free day in Kathmandu you should also prepare yourself for trekking baggage the Tibet permit they took the time you can go shopping for the trekking if you need something ells.
Day 04: Flight to Nepalgunj (260 m) in the late afternoon O/N Hotel BB plan.
After the breakfast, you go to the domestic airport with a guide and fly to Nepalgunj after landing drop to your hotel, and your guide briefs your next day’s program. Nepalgunj is the very hot place but evening time you can visit the town and back to the hotel.
Day 05: Flight to Simikot (2,910 m) and trek to Dharapuri 4 hrs O/N Tented FB plan.
This day you should take early breakfast hotel people drop to your airport for a Simikot flight when you there then you will have lunch there then trek to Dharapuri four hours walk the trails begin one hour ascend and two hours descend till to Majhgaun after that trails are flatter zigzag.
Day 06: Dharapori to Kermi (2,670 m) 6-7 hrs walking O/N Tented FB plan.
This day after the breakfast your trails begin gradually ascend but it looks fatter, you can really enjoy the local lifestyle, waterfall and beautiful landscape of western Nepal, Kermi is the small village if you reach earlier then you can visit upper kermi where you can enjoy with Natural hot spring and back to the campsite.
Day 07: Kermi to Yalbang Gompa (3,040 m) 6-7 hrs walking O/N Tented FB plan.
After your breakfast heading to the biggest monastery area of Yalbang Gompa passing through a beautiful landscape, Pine forest. This day trails are gradual ascending and zigzag flatter till to Salli-La then descend to Salli Khola then again ascending to Yalbang Gompa. Yalbang Gompa is not only the biggest Monastery it is also the Monks school who want to study Monks.
Day 08: Yalbang to Tumkot Khola (3,110 m) 6 hrs walking O/N Tented FB plan.
These day trails begin flatter after the breakfast you heading toward Tumkot in small village passing through Karnali riverbank, Apricot bushes and the beautiful village of Muchu then you can have lunch break after that continue to descend to Tumkot whole day trails is easier.
Day 09: Tumkot to Thado Dhunga (3,860 m) 7-8 hrs walking O/N Tented FB plan.
After Tumkot heading toward Thado dhunga trials begin ascending but when you reach the lunch place in Pani Palbang then trails looks easier and flatter but it goes always gradual ascend Thado Dhunga is just small kharka where Yak can find the little grasses.
Day 10: Crossing Nara La (4,516 m) Sher meet cars, transfer Purang O/N Guest House FB plan.
This day you have to take early breakfast this is the last and hardest day trekking in Nepal part, you have to cross Nara-La Pass (4,516 m.) trails begin till to pass ascend after that descend till to borderland of Hilsaa Karnali riverbank and cross the suspension bridge then drive to Taklakot (Purang) in Tibet.
Day 11: Drive from Purang to Manasarovar-Lake O/N Tented FB plan.
After breakfast, your trip continues to Manosarovar Lake which is a biggest holy lake for both Buddhist and Hindu religions people, during your driving time you can stop for the first best view of Mt Kailash and Mt Gurlamandata mountains view.
Day 12: Explore day Visit Chiu Gompa, hiking to Gossul Gompa O/N Tented FB plan.
This is the rest day you can sleep longer than the others day but after the breakfast, you can walk around the monastery and afternoon you can go for a shower in natural hot spring or you can do yourself hiking around.
Day 13: Drive to Darchen prepare for Kora O/N Guest House FB plan.
After the breakfast drive to Darchen and preparing the thing for Kailash Parikrama (KORA) for three days trek, and evening time walk around Darchen town.
Day 14: Kora Mt. Kailash, Darboche, Drirapuk 7-8 hrs walking O/N Tented FB plan.
This is the first-day kora begin from Darchen the trails are gradually ascending and bit flatter but this day you have to carry some packed lunch somewhere on the way you can stop for the tea break then continue to Dirapuk when you reach there you can have a Majestic view of the Mt Kailash north face.
Day 15: Kora Dirapuk, Dölma La before Zutrulpuk 8-9 hrs walking O/N Tented FB plan.
After breakfast heading toward Zutrulpuk Monastery trails begin more ascending till to Dolma-La pass and descend till to Zutrulpuk, this is the final hardest day in your whole trip this day also you have to take pack lunch with you when you descend the Bottom of hill them you can have tea break then continue to your destination.
Day 16: Kora Zutrulpuk to Darchen lunch drive to Hor Qu 5 hrs walking O/N Tented FB plan.
After breakfast visits Zutrulpuk Monastery and heading to Darchen the trails are easier and flatter but in the altitude feeling hard after lunch continue to drive to Hor north-east range of the Mansarovar Lake.
Day 17: Drive to Saga 6-7 hrs drive Road is fine now a day’s O/N Tented FB plan.
After breakfast drive to Saga passing through beautiful countryside, Yak Pasture, the landscape is totally dry looks more flat land Saga is a beautiful town village after your reaching you can go for small sightseeing.
Day 18: Drive from Saga to Kerung Border 6 hrs O/N Guest House FB plan.
After the breakfast, your trails heading south valley and crossing the Brahmaputra River then continue drive to the borderland of Kerung this is the newest borderland opening for the foreigner after the earthquake because old trails from Kodari is totally destroyed by Landslide.
Day 19: Crossing the Kerung border and continue drive to Kathmandu O/N hotel BB plan.
After the breakfast you are crossing the borderland in Nepal site, say bye for Tibet and continue to drive back to Kathmandu passing through beautiful green valley and scenery of our landscape, we drop to you directly in a hotel Evening farewell dinner with an official.
Day 20: Rest day free shopping day in Kathmandu Hotel with BB plan.
This is the rest day in Kathmandu in the afternoon you can go shopping some Souvenir for the family and friends,
Day 21: Final departure transfer to airport Trips to end.
This day any time our office person drop to you in the International airport for your own destination. But you have to be an airport 3 hours before in your Schedule flight trip to end.
Useful Info
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Every effort will be made to keep to the above itinerary, but as this is adventure travel in a remote mountain region, we cannot guarantee it! Weather conditions and the health of trekkers can all contribute to changes. The guides and their Sherpa assistants will try to ensure that the trip runs according to plan, but please be prepared to be flexible if necessary.
Experience Required: This Trek is suitable for keen walkers who are able to walk for 6 – 7 hours in a day, with a light rucksack. Some of the days are quite long, and the walking feels more strenuous at altitude. Generally the trail is a good track, but occasionally it will be uneven and rocky.
Food & Accommodation: You will be accommodated in tea house & during trekking .Tea houses are simple, local-run guesthouses with twin-share or single rooms. Toilets and showers are of varying standards.
Typical food available for lunch and dinner is Nepali rice & lentils, pasta, potato dishes, soups or pizzas. Delicious pancakes, porridge, toast and eggs are the main breakfast fare, while tea, coffee and hot chocolate are always available. You will probably be pleasantly surprised at the variety of food at the lodges.
What about our luggage?
1 Porter will be shared between 2 participants, they take a maximum load of 12kgs per participant.
You may keep things you will not use on trek at our hotel in Kathmandu.
What will the temperature be like?
Basically the atmospheric temperature fluctuates between -10 to 25 degrees throughout the day.
When we are trekking, temperature would be on the high. For trekking, our concerns are focused on sun and wind exposure. Do to protect yourselves, you can wear long trekking pants or convertibles, in case it gets to warm and a dry-fit long sleeve top and have the rain shell or outer waterproof layer accessible.
You’ll need your fleece or maybe the down jackets for those who are more afraid of cold when we reach the lodgings or at night to keep warm.
How much money should we bring?
You will need to carry Nepali Rupee if you decide you want to more shower than 3 times, or have additional hot water on trek. At the trekking lodges, you may wish to buy specialty menu items as well, or pick up souvenirs on trek. Shopping can be done on your last day in Thamel area.
What about Acute Mountaineering Sickness (AMS)?
AMS occurs to different people differently at different altitude due to our tolerance level.
Signs of AMS includes: Dizziness, Nausea, Loss of Appetite, Fatigue or weakness, Shortness of breath, Drowsiness, Fluctuation.
Peripheral Edema (Swelling of extremities)
Fluctuation in body temperature
Prevention of AMS:
Adequate REST prior to the trip.
Adequate HYDRATION during the trek or activity. (It is alright to keep going to the look, it is good for you)
Adequate SALT AND SUGAR in your bloodstream. (Basically EAT)
Adequate WARMTH. (Keep yourself warm and try to not lose as much heat as possible to maintain bodily functions)
PROPER BREATHING. (Breathe deep into the diaphragm, breathe slow and steady. Breathe through your nose. Do not pant.)
PROPER EXERTION. (Go at a constant, manageable pace, do not chase after the person in front, try not to keep stopping and starting)
